Organizing Service Agreement
Thank-you so much for your interest in Breathing Space Home and Life Organizing Solutions for Active Families.
This service agreement outlines the terms and conditions for organizing services, and must be e-signed before services commence.
1. Privacy and Confidentiality
Given the sensitive nature of the work I do, and the high level of trust with your it requires my clients to place in me, you can be assured of absolute privacy when working with me.
I will only take and/or publish traditional "before & after" pictures with your consent.
As a member of the Professional Organizers in Canada, I adhere strictly to its Code of Ethics which emphasizes confidentiality, honesty and integrity.
2. Your Organizing Sessions
Upon contract signing and first payment, we will book your organizing sessions. I will then email you our agreed-upon plan (brief outline) for organizing your home within 48 hours of your payment for a session or package of sessions.
Breathing Space Organizing Services agrees to implement the proposed solutions within a reasonable period of time, as discussed with the client, and for the price agreed upon.
Sessions are booked at a mutually agreed upon time, in 2 or 3 hours increments only.
Client availability is necessary for me to complete all work that requires information, input or decisions. Where services require working one on one with a staff member, we request that you schedule time when you will not be interrupted.
To make the most of our time together, it is very important that you and I focus on your session. Please make arrangements in advance for handling incoming phone calls, re-directing visitors, pets, childcare etc. so that sessions are not interrupted.
Communication is paramount to a successful project. I have found that the most successful working relationships are those where the client takes an active role. You can contact me at any time during our sessions using telephone, text, voice mail, e-mail or Facebook messenger. I will respond as quickly as possible within 24 hours of your inquiry.
I will not throw anything out without the client's permission. I help the client make decisions, but the final decision is always theirs. Thus, the client is responsible for any loss or damage resulting from the discarding or destroying of any records or personal effects. The client agrees to make final decisions about disposition of items.
I will quick-clean a focus area for organizing purposes, but I am not a housecleaning service.
Direct expenses of service -- including, but not limited to, supplies, copying/messenger services/shipping fees/delivery charges, parking, tolls and other transportation charges, overnight charges -- are the client's responsibility. They will be billed to client at the time of service, if not provided directly by client.
Breathing Space Organizing Services will provide basic organizing supplies including garbage bags, recycling bags, cardboard (or equivalent) storage boxes to use during sorting process.
Clients are responsible for paying for all other agreed-upon supplies (file folders, labels, labeling tape, storage containers, shelving, etc.) necessary for the completion of the project.
I will either make suggestions about what supplies should be purchased and the client will do the shopping, or I will shop and purchase supplies without the client being present and make arrangements to have those supplies delivered to client's location.
Copies of receipts for funds spent on client's behalf will be presented with the final invoice.
5. Billing Rate
Organizing sessions are scheduled in 2 or 3-hour sessions only.
Organizing time is sold in packages of 3 hours. Savings apply (as below) as organizing hours increase and when agreed upon hours are scheduled and invoiced at time of initial booking.
3 hours: $195
6 hours: $351 (10% savings)
12 hours: $624 (20% savings)
All fees include:
30-minute complimentary consultation
Planning for your organizing project
Shopping and delivery of agreed upon organizing supplies
Basic organizing supplies (garbage bags, recycling bags, boxes or equivalent for item removal, re-usable chalkboard labels, chalkboard pen)
Positive, efficient hands-on organizing
Removal of donation items on your behalf (up to one carload full)
Communication with you by phone or email up to two weeks after your last session
Mileage to and from your home (within the Greater Edmonton Region)
6. Billing Methods & Terms of Payment
Clients will be invoiced prior to service. 50% of payment is due in full prior to scheduling any sessions. Remaining 50% of payment and fees for supplies is due immediately following the final session.
I accept payment by cash, credit or email transfer.
When a client books an appointment with me, that time is reserved exclusively for them and becomes unavailable for anyone else to use. If, for some reason -- other than a true emergency -- you need to cancel appointments, please give at least 24-hours advance notice so that others may take advantage of the available time.
If I need to cancel any session due to illness, you'll receive a credit for that session only OR the option to reschedule.
In the event you've booked a session that you need to cancel, rescheduling is complimentary, but the session is nonrefundable.
I reserve the right to withdraw from an organizing project at any time if the project involves perceived unsafe working conditions, if clients are in breach of their agreement with me (bounced checks, non-payment, etc.), or if I cannot render the services requested by client through no fault of my own.
8. Control and Access to Job Site
Clients acknowledge control of the job site and agree to provide me access to job site for the term of the work.
9. Delivery Guarantee
I strive to meet a 100% client satisfaction level. It is my responsibility to analyze your situation, teach you appropriate new skills and help you make the changes you want.
If I fail to meet any realistic expectations, I will schedule a complimentary session (of length to be determined) to make any necessary adjustments.
All claims must be submitted in writing within seven business days of completion of the project. Letters describing in detail what work or parts of the project were not completed or satisfactorily executed should be mailed Return Receipt Requested to:

Failure to make a claim within seven business days implies that client fully accepts the completed work.
If, after returning to address any issues on which the client has made claims, the client remains dissatisfied, the unused remainder of a package (if any) will be refunded. At no time will a refund be given for work or portions of a package completed to the client's satisfaction.
10. Reasonable Care
I will use reasonable care in the performance of all of my duties. I will not accept responsibility for any damage to a client's personal property that is not the direct result of my gross negligence. If applicable, you are responsible for furnishing a list of specific items you do not want to have me touch or move.
In the fulfillment of my organizing services, clients agree to hold Breathing Space Organizing Services harmless and give me full discretion in the removal and disposal of papers, files and/or other property belonging to the client. I will not provide a receipt for donated items.
Clients give me permission to use, without remuneration, testimonials they provide in my marketing materials, which may include print and online advertising. Clients will be identified by first name and location only (i.e., Suzy, Edmonton) or an alias, if preferred and requested. I warrant that at no time will your testimonial or name be used to promote unlawful or morally objectionable activities including (but not limited to): sending unsolicited email; activities designed to defame, embarrass, harm or abuse third parties; or hate crime of any kind. Your personal information will never be sold or distributed.
12. Important Legal Information
THESE TERMS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
Agreements with my clients are not transferable to any other parties
